Closed car mirror position
Hi,
I'd need to know what is the correct position of the original rear view mirror (type D as per judging standards) in the Tudor closed car. I thaught it had to be right in the middle of the windshield header but this is not possible because of a screw already there for maintaining the lower sheet metal of the windshield header. What should be the distance of the mirror to the windshield header center ? Thanks for my French Tudor. Jean |

Re: Closed car mirror position
You are correct. The mirror on my '30 Tudor is not in the center, it is slightly off to the drivers side. I have the same "Style D" Mirror assembly.
I am not sure if all years were the same. If nobody responds by morning, I will try to remember when I go to my shop tomorrow to measure my car and get back to you. What year do you have? Chris |

Re: Closed car mirror position
On my S/W sedan, the location of the mirror mounting screws is determined by some notches in the metal header. There is also an extra notch to allow the mirror to be on the other side for RHD cars!
So the real question is: what is the point of it being off-center? Doug

So many answers in one day! Nevertheless I will really need the offset distance between mirror center and windshield header center because my metal header doesn't have any notches to indicate me where to screw that mirror. Thanks |
