Tremec RTS part needed.............HELP
In the middle of changing my F150 Tremec RTS transmission over to the "Goldilocks" gearset, but I have a problem. I broke the input shaft to bearing snap ring while dismantling the transmission. The rebuild parts kit does not come with this snap ring and I have been unable to locate this snap ring, even from the transmission parts supplier. It is apparently a very special size snap ring. It's dimensions are OD=1.816", ID=1.43", Height=.192" and it's thickness is 0.064", which is the problem. I can find plenty of snap rings with the same first three dimensions, but they all have an 0.093" thickness which is too thick for the snap ring groove on the input shaft. Is it possible someone here on Ford Barn has one of these snap rings I could purchase?

Re: Tremec RTS part needed.............HELP
Have you tried sanding down the one that is to thick? Sanding down the thickness of Harley oil pump shaft keys is very common. Use wet/dry sandpaper and a light oil. Check often to see if it will fit.

Double sided tape to a heavier piece of metal then to a belt sander

Find a shop with a magnetic table on their surface grinder.

Re: Tremec RTS part needed.............HELP
Went to a Ford dealer parts department this morning and they were able to give me the snap ring part number. Did a google search and found three on eBay. Problem solved!!!!!!!!!!

It's a Ford part number D8UZ-7064-A. Probably find it on eBay.
