Default Rubber and Glass

Anybody know if there is a difference between Dennis Carpenter and Bob Drake on rubber and glass for 40 passenger cars or does one of them make the products for all the vendors? Any recommendations or caveats are appreciated.

In my experience when it comes to '40 Ford window rubber, GO WITH BOB DRAKE.
Rubber window products from Carpenter just do not fit.

Do yourself a favor & do a search on the Ford Barn on this subject.

Buy all the seals from every vendor and compare. Return the rejects.
It's some hastle I know but it's the only way to be sure of getting the best available.

Thanks for the tip. Actually I did do a search and didn't find the answer I was looking for. I seem to have a problem getting the info I want out of a search which I figure is related to my senility/ dementia.

On window rubber I always use Drake. Much more pliable and fits better.

I have a lot of experience with restoring '40 Fords. Drake for window seals - hands down. Carpenter's windshield seals simply do not fit correctly.
All of the other seals? Shop price as they are identical in quality. Typically Carpenter is more reasonable, especially when considering shipping fees. Carpenter charges a flat rate shipping fee. Drake? Well, he states he charges what he is charged PLUS a dubious $2 delivery warranty.
I tend to disbelieve his claim as I can ship the same package to him time and again for about 1/2 - 2/3 the cost he charges.
By the way, Drake's floor board seals are terrible. Not certain if anyone else makes them.
