Oldwhizzer,
Measure it lengthwise..should be 41 9/16" approx. Height should be 13 1/2" approx, for a deluxe roadster. If it is and if for sale, I'd buy it, thanks.

74bowtie started a thread in August 2010 which might be helpful to you.

? Roadster windshield 28-29 30-31

If it proves to be an original /genuine roadster windshield for a 28 / 29, then please let me know as I may be interested in buying it.

Thank you.

Not Model "A" unless is a repro! Across the top corner to corner should be 44- 3/4" by 13-5/8". .The 2 holes for vacuum line clips are way off for a orginial frame. Richard Redmond , NO orginial 1928-1929 windshield frame that i know of was chrome plated ,,they were painted all the way upto Aug. 1930 then chrome for the Deluxe Roadster. Before that the 180A had chrome from day 1..It is not a orginial frame for a Model "A". PLUS the big give-a- way is the open wedge space in the corner.Orginial frames meet perfect with NO open space.

Yes - I couldn't quite tell from the photos, but I thought the metal looked a little too shiny. Is it chrome plated ?

Richard

oldwhizzer,
I finally went to measure an unused 30/31 deluxe chromed original that I have in the shed: height is 13 1/2" by length of 44 5/8"

While this particular wouldn't work but does a Cabriolet change this statement??

1929 Cabriolet windshield frames were painted upper body color.

Hopefully you knowlelgeable Fordbarners can provide me some guidance on the windshield in my roadster.

It is chrome, well made with tight corners and has FORD script glass. There is a rubber seal around the sides and bottom. It measures, (best I can determine, as it is installed.)

43 1/2 inches long and 15 inches high at each end, 13 inches high in the center.

The stanchions are chrome and fit the windshield.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

43-1/2" long and 15" high..and chrome plated , sounds to me as a poor standard repro windshield frame... Standard and Deluxe original frames are the same size across and just differ on the height. Brent we were speaking about OPEN cars as roadster and phaeton.Oldwizzer asked about a 30/31 roadster frame. The pivot stud is wrong too on this frame...!
