ratamahata,
Yes, these photo are quite old, the first photo on Eagle Summit was about 15 years ago, the AA and last photo were taken about 25 years ago, maybe a little older. I took these with my Nikkormat FT-3. Darryl in Fairbanks Last edited by darrylkmc; 04-11-2012 at 12:02 AM. |

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
Here are a few I've stumbled across on the web. Mainly from the "Sitting and Rotting" thread on the HAMB.

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
Wow! I think with the second pic being a RHD roadster pickup and the water cooled Maxim Machine gun, that must be South Africa? Ford imported cars there, no plant right?

Interesting Model A delivery for sale in The Netherlands
....now here is an interesting delivery Model A on Dutch eBay. I especially like the side door. Was that original? Is there a shelf inside the truck to match up with the side door opening?
Here is the link to the listing on -Bay: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Zeldzame-Ford...item2ebd773aac Fordially, Brad in Germany now in Maryland |

Actually, Sth Africa had a Ford assembly plant in the Model A era. They were supplied by Ford Canada. Brad, that Dutch Delivery also has a custom made rear fender, obviously to fit the non Ford body. |

The fourth pic, the 30 square cab is in my back yard. The fifth pic of the green van body I sold to a gentleman who owns a very large furniture store, last I knew it was being used as a sign out front of his business. He also has a double decker bus on display in the store, several other vehicles and a couple of planes hanging from the ceiling. http://www.hometownfurniturecenter.com/ He bought four Ford trucks from me last year, I'm not sure what he's done with them all. Never know where my back yard is going to end up on the interwebz. Doug |

ctlikon0712,
The weapon in the back of the RPU is a 1917 Browning water cooled machine gun. A friend of mine owns one, a fun gun to shoot if you can aford the ammo. Bob-A |

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
Here are a few photos of BIG RED ONE from the Texas Volunteer Fire Department.
About 12 years ago, just for grins, I built this 'commercial vehicle' (?) from a 1930 pickup. It garnered tremendous attention wherever it went. So much so that I elected to sell it a few years after I finished the restoration because I couldn't stomach all the attention. Too many folks just had to rub their paws on the expensive gold leaf and all the fire equipment. My "Look but please don't touch" signs were ignored. I even had two people open the driver's door and climb inside (one of whom was a Model A'er at the statewide annual Texas Tour). Enough! It now lives somewhere in New Hampshire, undoubtedly helping keep that state free from fire damage. For reasons I do not understand, the website about BIG RED ONE that was created years ago by my son continues to reside in cyberspace. It's out there for your viewing amusement at: http://texasvfd.torget.us/index.html |

Re: Model A commercial vehicles picture thread!!
That photo is in the UK & the 'Chevy' appears to be a 'British Bedford' which started off based on Chev. The round Bedford badge on 'shell is visible. The Poms [ Brits] were always good at miniturising stuff & someone got carried away with the little truck.
