New Lions dual plug speed head and distributor for Model A
City:
Spokane
State:
WA
Price:
700.00
SOLD!!!!
Selling this for my friend Len. This is a never run Lions dual plug head for a model A. Len bought this for his B he's building. He got it all together and was putting water in it to fire it...it leaked before he had a chance to so he took the head off. B's have two small hols on the deck surface right in the middle, on each side of the head stud. This head does not quite cover these holes, so water seeped into the two center cylinders. It will work on an A with problems, he held an A gasket up to it and realized the solution. Len also got a 1982-1984 Datsun 8 plug distributor and had it converted as per the article by Charlie Yapp. It is ready to go with dual coils, new cloth wires, etc. Len was very disappointed he can not run this on his B. he has about 1300.00 into this whole thing, and said he will let the whole works go for 700.00 OBO plus shipping. Super bitching head, just made to only work on an A block. Please PM with any questions

Just plug the two holes in the B block. That's what I did.

He thought of that but this engine is installed in his pickup, and he did not want to pull the heads and valves to stone the deck surface to true the fill job. He already purchased another head that will work on it.

I agree. Lots of people have done this. The block will need to be decked again after they are plugged. But the holes are not needed anyways. And it will save him his money on this head

Do NOT machine the deck of a B block if avoidable. They're too thin to start with. Stan |

Can you share with me who you sold this to, an e-mail or phone number. I have the same setup and have some questions on the advance timing.
