I need to purchase some tires for my daily driver model a . What is the best brand of tire to purchase. I want some tires that drive and ride the best.

Just put these on my 1930 Model A pickup. It's a daily driver and I love them so far!! I purchased 5 tires, tubes and rim strips. Great price and great tires! Universal was great to deal with. Here's a link to the tires:

The universal tires shown are 4 ply nylon. They will have a flat spot that you will feel untill you drive a little while and then they will smooth out. I have had 4 ply nylons on lots of older cars and it never bothered me but they were much larger and heavier than a Model A.

I believe that there were some previous threads that stated the polyester tires don't have this issues of temporary flat spots and also give a better ride. I can't say from experience since I too am looking to buy a set of tires and tubes.

I am leaning towards just biting the bullet and going with Goodyear for the look of the tread and ride. Still not sure. Let us know what you decide on.

I haven't noticed a flat spot at all on mine. Mine's a driver not a show car so I just wanted some plain ole blackwalls for a pickup truck and I didn't have a lot of money so for me the Universal work well.

Lester blackwalls are a great tire through universal. Ive recommended them to all my customers who are looking for driver quality. From my test drives they've handled better than a lot of the more expensive brands.

Get some 16" wheels and radial tires. Your Model A will look funny, but the tires will last for many miles and years. I'm just joking. Don't do it.

I bought a set of Universal 21" tires from Coker last year. They are wearing well so far and look right too. Have never had the "flat spot" issue at all. Cost me just over $100 each by the time I got them mounted and balanced.
