Has anyone had any experience in removing and replacing broken rear quarter windows in 2-Door Sedan ? I thought the front door windows were hard, but I think I've got some work ahead of me ! Any secrets ?
Thx..mike42 |

Its a hard window to change and like a puzzle there is only one way. Does your window work good for going back two inches, bringing the window forward and stowing and then being able to wind the window down. If the window does things sequences good, then remove the panel and study the movement very closely, make notes, take pics or memorize. If you don't do this or even get the glass secured in the track exactly like the original, this window will never work the same again. So it will take a lot of patience and study. It is hard to believe but the window does come out. There is a small screw installed in the track mechanism that has to be removed to get the window out. I have a thread to install the glass on this web site or the Hamb, I don't remember. The glass comes out at a super steep angle like 50 or 60 degrees. If you don't find the thread, I will repeat it. Good luck

Wow what a bitch to take out. Yes the regulator works smooth as silk, but the original glass was broken and cloudy. I hope I can get it back in the same place when re-installing.
It's out and I did see that small screw, but only after a lot of cussing and swearing! I cannot imagine putting that in during the assembly line operations. That took a lot of time. It does come out on a severe angle you are correct. I'll remember that part. I'm going to put saran-wrap on window when installing to protect it. I just ordered the glass run kit this morning. Thanks for writing and yes send the thread if you could. I would not know where to find it here. Thanks again "Forty" I'll let you know how I do in a week or so. Mike42 |
