40/41 Pickup bed question

Just got the bed back from the blaster. Overall pleased with the results. Looking for opinions about panel suppliers, good or bad. Haven't seen small patch panels for the area below the stamping in front of the rear wheel. I know it is flat but I don't have a metal brake and there is a lip, not to mention rivet holes. BTW how do you peen the rivets? Please check out the pictures and let me know!

I used leftover paul bradley sheet metal from a front floorboard section to repair my trunk area then used napa fiber strand bondo from over the top....it just depends on how extensive you want to get into it...I worked @ a muffler shop as a young man I picked up a mig welder and started practicing and saved myself a bundle...in your case it looks like U can weld in small pieces then reinforce with the special hard bondo

If you have a vice or a steel top table and some angle iron you can fabricate bending tools that will work as good as a brake. 18 or 19 gauge auto sheet metal bends a lot easier than a guy might think if the steel is still in good condition. If you need a stake pocket you might check Northern Classic trucks or Mack Hils for parts.

Bed is 16 gauge I believe. I have to repair mine the same. Mostly flat though so easy to patch.

Thanks guys. I noticed some flat metal at tractor supply yesterday. If it is 16 gauge I'll buy some and give it a try. Bought a Miller 140 a couple of years ago and keep verifying I'm not a wielder. A friend, who is a good wielder, put it best when he said "you need to stop praticing on things you need!"
