I have a vintage tire pump with A172 on the bottom and I was wondering if it was for a model A ford. I was told it was and I want to make sure it is.
Thanks everyone. |

It's something that you might want to ask someone who deals with Model A's and the tooling that goes with them. However that doesn't mean it wasn't on a list of tools for the Model T too. Years ago I had a book from the Early Ford V8 Club that had an article about the different years and what tools went with each year. But my ex-father in law has got it now. And it'll be a cold day in... well you probably know the rest. Maybe ask your question on the Model A forum and the V8 forum too. There's got to be information out there yet.

Have never heard of A 172 on pumps for Model A's. Most of the A style were stamped steel with no writing or numbers, made by Nobett Sparks. There was a very early A cast iron pump with Ford script that was actually a Model T one carried over until runout.
Look on the MAFCA/MARC club sites, there is a section on tools with photos of pumps etc. |
