Timken a150 pinion seal
Anyone have a part number for the Timken a150 pinion seal for my 1954 F250? I have the exploded diagram with part numbers but nothing comes up when searching online.
Also if anyone knows what this part is? It is not attached to anything and I can freely spin it with my fingers. Is it supposed to spin freely? |

Re: Timken a150 pinion seal
believe it is just a cover to protect the seal. I could be wrong!

I don't have a MPC that goes that far back.
There should be an ID NO on the seal itself that can be changed over to a modern PN. What PN does your schematic show? |

Re: Timken a150 pinion seal
That is a shield to help protect the seal but it should not be free turning if the yoke is stationary. Those shields are normally fastened to the yoke in a crimped fashion and rotate or turn with the yoke. When the yoke is removed to replace the seal, then steps can be taken to refasten the shield to the yoke. Ted Eaton.

Re: Timken a150 pinion seal
According to my ford parts manual, if it’s the original rear end, the seal number is TBAA4676-A. That number transfers over to Timken 451078 who manufactured the original seal. national part # is the same as Timken, good luck.

Awesome; thanks everyone for the help. @TedEaton what is the process for reattaching this cover?
