Frame vin
I recently purchased a 1951 F1, I'm having difficulty reading the vin on the frame, I see it but parts of it are very hard to read, I know its correct because the part I can read matchs the glove box plate,
The title is wrong, I'm in the process of getting that corrected Any help to make it easier to read, I've been using a steel brush..... |

Re: Frame vin
Hello, try using a thin piece of paper and a pencil laid nearly flat and you should be able to highlight the characters.

Re: Frame vin
The use of a wire brush was perhaps the worst choice you could have made to reveal the serial number. You’re not dealing with tool steel, iron is soft and vulnerable to all abrasives.

Re: Frame vin
Sometimes useful to hold a light at a very low angle to cast a shadow across the digits. Also use the camera in your phone to video the area from all angles and use macro mode. Then watch it on a computer screen to identify the digits. Mart.
