33 Tudor dash removal
Do I have to remove these two screws on each side at the top? Looks like the only way to get a screwdriver driver on them is with the windshield chrome removed!! How does the w/s chrome come off? Thanks.

Re: 33 Tudor dash removal
Should be six screws total across the top.

Actually three grumpies; Vice-Grip a head . . . twist it off. Pull the dash, Vice-Grip the screw shank, turn, and screw it out. Henry did NOT want them to come out! Besides, he probably thought, who would be fool enough to pull a dash! |

Apparently, the original Ford ws glass had been replaced w/this plate glass. I know that I removed the windshield frame w/the glass in place. Sanders removed the glass from the frame and replaced w/safety glass w/the Ford "Safety Glass" logo using the date that I gave them to match the back window and each door on my three window coupe. The "Safety Glass" logo goes in the bottom corner of your choice. On the assembly line, there was no concern regarding that, I've read, because I wanted it on the correct side; the plate glass had no "Safety Glass" logo, so I wanted to be sure. Pat Malone |

Highbeams, I had a Duh moment. With the windshield cranked open I had plenty of clearance…10” to get at the screws.

Re: 33 Tudor dash removal
Whomever told you that the location of the safety glass logo was a matter of choice was misinformed. The logo wasn't added at the assembly plant, it was added where the glass was manufactured and its placement was specified on the engineering drawings. The logos on surviving original safety glass are consistently located where those drawings specify.

Since I have the speedo out, what’s the best way to lube it?

Re: 33 Tudor dash removal
I suggest you have it properly serviced as it should be opened up.Removing the needle can be tricky. Baxter Ford in Lawrence ,KS did mine yrs ago and they were very reasonable.

We ARE still talking about removing the dash aren't we? (The devil made me do it.)

Yes Lawson, dash is out. Thought I’d throw in the speedo question. Guess I’ll start a new thread.

The windshield glass can be installed in the windshield frame with the "Ford Safety Glass" oval logo with its manufactured month and year date, on either side of the glass. Depending upon the worker installing the glass, the logo will end up on the outside glass, or on the inside glass; on the driver side lower left, or on the passenger side lower right.
