Default accelerator question 54 mercury 256 engine

Does anyone have a photo of how the accelerator return spring is attached on the left rear side of the carburetor?? Something is wrong on my 54, trying to see what's up.

Original was never attached to the carb. It's on the bellcrank. I sent a picture to your personal message box.
I think it also varies depending on auto or manual trans.

Mine has a 3 speed manual trans. The spring I removed that worked the carb. throttle was attached from the bellcrank area to the left rear bolt on the carb. Thats why I need a photo from someone to show me what the correct way to connect the return spring.

You can ask KULTULZ on this forum. He's help me and a lot of others with parts manual pictures and part numbers.

This diagram is for a '54 Ford 239 engine with std trans. May also translate to '54 Merc 256 (or not).
