33-34 ford differances?

Hello wondering what the difference is between the 33-34 ford is besides the grille? I just picked up what I was a told was a 34 coupe,but then a friend told me that 33's had smooth rear inner fenders? They are original inner wheel wells. Thanks

beside's grill, hood has one handle latch on the 33 ,34 has two,and 33 dash gauge's, are removed in a cluster, 34 one gauge at a time, is it a 3 window, or a 5 window. Harold central coast Ca.

33 Curved lowers on the hood sides, One handle to open the hood.
34 Straight louvers on the sides, two handles to open.

34 has a bump on the firewall to rest the hood on when open.

Down low on the firewallside the 33 has a metalhook for the hood lock mechanism to connect to. The 34 has a hole, for the handle.

The 33 dashboard you can swap places between the gauges and the glovebox.
34 you can't

V8 Times listed out someone's catalog of the differences once...it was LONG.
Bottom line is that despite the great similarity and general interchangeability, practically every part was different and many pieces, especially in 1933, changed several times.
One source (DeAngelis, maybe?) even says that the grill change actually happened late in the 1933 model year, and there are original '33's with '34 noses!

I had an early 34 3 window that had smooth fender wells. It also had a 33 cowl vent. The hood latch at the firewall was clearly 34. There are many things that changed thru the 2 years.

If the frame is original to the car , What is the serial # . That will tell you the approximate date of car.

The Cowl vent on 33 Has no Bug screen,
The Cowl Vent on a 34 Does Have a Screen
34 Door Glass will go straight Back one inch when fully raised
Etc. Etc. Etc. .............................

I think many of the details have been covered, But, the inner fender well curve "dimple" is longer on the 33 than the 34..Also, the 33 headlights are about 1.5" longer on the 33 vs the 34..I have both a 33 and 34, much has to with the month of manufacture.. REAL early 33,s have non skirted front fenders..The rads are different to accomodate the different latching points..Cowl vents are different ..There is more and when I wake up in the morning I will post them...

What about production numbers on the various models?
Coupes, roadsters, sedans, 2 & 4 door, standard and deluxe models?
Seeing the two production years are so similar, are there any differences in value?

Thanks for all the replys it looks like I have a 34. I just picked it up, the previous owner cut the floor and rails out to channel it 30 years ago and then let it sit in the corner of his garage! Its just a body and doors,rumble lid. I'm going to try to save it but it may be over my head and I need a long list of parts....

There are at least 65 difference between 34-33 (early Ford V8 club of America)
Regardless don't give up either one is a WINNER lee34

There were several MID-year changes in the 34s alone and included inner front door handles changed from front the middle of door with separate inner lock switches, rein-forcing webs added to rear inner fender panels, screen added to cowl vent, front seat adjustment mechanism/sliders updated, front inner fender panel were stamped smoother. To name a few obvious ones.
