I recently found an old wood steering wheel on eBay that's in nice restorable shape. The two wooden sides are held together with several rivets, and the rivet holes are supposed to be covered by pearl plugs.
Has anyone restored one of these wheels before? I'd like to drill out the rivets, refinish the wood halves, and put it all together with new rivets and pearl plugs. I've been trying to find a source for the rivets and plugs but haven't had any luck. If anyone knows where I can find these pieces I'd appreciate the lead. Thanks, Nick |

Thanks, guys. I checked with Julianno; he didn't have any of the parts I'm looking for. But I'll definitely look through Hemmings' to see if I can find anything. Somebody has to be selling these pieces.
Thanks again, Nick |
