Don't worry Geoge it's a start
I don't think you'll have it running this weekend though!!! Flop's doing a closed cab next so that might help John Cochran |

Re: My new Model A pickup
Wax did not do the trick. So started work on the cab and box.
Replaced rear cab support. Replaced front panel in box. Replaced part of the rear box cross member. Made most of the wood for the cab. |

Re: My new Model A pickup
Trucks are cool, I wish I would have never sold my 29. Looks like you are well on your way. Keep up the good work!

Re: My new Model A pickup
You must have had some straight old wood for patterns? What kind of wood did you use, oak? Done on a band saw?
I'd like to make the wood for my 30 pickup cab as well. Yours looks good. |

Re: My new Model A pickup
The wood is ash, the man I got the truck from gave me enough wood for the cab and box. He got it from his Father in law. No band saw used a jig saw for the curves, then belt sanded . Most of the wood was gone. Got the header with the truck. The piece on the upper back was there.

Re: My new Model A pickup
Some of you guys are not going to like this truck. But it was real bad when I got it, plus it will take a stock engine any time I want, or my Model A engine with my home built over head.

Re: My new Model A pickup
That looks great! I'm still looking for a cab or even a cowl for mine. I got 2 trucks ,30/31, with no cab. Been looking for about 6 months with no luck. Maybe the new year will present something I can use. I'm envious of your cab. And don't let anyone '"poo-poo" your engine choice , looks like you did a nice job of that also. Happy New Year! Gary
