Re: "T" Model Price List - Anyone know the year ?
Ford did not call the "roadsters" for roadster until 1928, before they where
runabouts. 465$ for a roadster seems more lika a model A, i think. 1923 the price for a plain runabout without starter and de-mountable rims was 269$. 1924 265$ 1925 260$ 1926 290$ 1927 360$ Including freight, tax and gasoline..well...sorry but i can't help |

Re: "T" Model Price List - Anyone know the year ?
Jalopy Tin ........................
Now, I'm confused. I never even considered this being an "A" Model price list. It is offering a new "T" Chasis. Weren't the "T" Models more expensive in the earlier years ? Henry Ford worked on getting the prices lower, and finally got them down to your prices. This is interesting. I wish more of you knowledgable people would offer an opinion. Thanks, MIKE |

Re: "T" Model Price List - Anyone know the year ?
Mike,
Your list appears to be a dealer created offering of 1918 Fords including freight, tax, gas & delivery. The Ton Truck was available first Feb 28, 1918. The factory prices in 1918 were; runabout $435, touring (pictured)$450, T chassis $400 which seem to fall in line with your list if you allow for the add on costs. I would guess the dealer referred to the "roadster" as such to be more in line with the competition. By 1918 the "runabout" term was sounding a little old Last edited by Jack Innes; 06-14-2010 at 11:09 AM. |

Re: "T" Model Price List - Anyone know the year ?
I was wrong i have learned my lesson. Ford had roadsters earlier then -28.
1906-1907 model S roadster 1907-1908 model K roadster 1908 model T roadster 1909-1910 model T roadster 1911 Torpedo roadster What was the difference between roadsters and runabouts in 1906-1907 and 1909? They seemed to have both styles. Model N roadster, model R roadster, model S roadster and model S runabout. (found this at http://www.mtfca.com/encyclo/fordata.htm) |

Actually there are several types of "roadsters" Below is a race between 2 roadsters. I would estimate about 1 horsepower each.

If you go to http://www.mtfca.com/ there is literature and that should help you find information.

Re: "T" Model Price List - Anyone know the year ?
Not knowing what part of the country this dealership ad came from, any of the late teens or early 20's could be close to these amounts. 1922 has $645 sedan, $414 rdstr, $580 coupe, $443 touring, $380 chassis, and $430 truck. all FOB Detroit. Not all T's were made in Detroit which would change frt charges. Dealers would add overhead and profit to FOB prices. Prices actually went down during the 20's, right up to the Model A era.
Good question. Any other opinions out there? Skip |
