Default Hubs don't fit on new brakes

I just replaced all mechanical brake parts on my '34 and now the hubs barely turn with the adjusting wedge all the way out and the brake rods disconnected.
Does anyone have some advice for me?

My sentiments, exactly.

I did not arc the shoes as they seem to match the hubs without any gaps.

Close only counts in horseshoes and handgrenades. ARC THE SHOES.

Try activating the brakes several times so the shoes, when retracted, clear the drum.

I put woven linings on the brake shoes.

Did your brakes work before you replaced the linings? By chance do you still have the linings you removed ? If so measure the thickness compared to the new ones.

Did you purchase the woven linings recently? I have been waiting on my backorder for a couple of months. Art

There are still a few outfits that will arc the shoes to the drums out there. New drums may have a bit less that 12-inch inside diameter. Usually when mating drums to hubs, the drums are turned after the mating process to insure concentricity and fit.

Anyone remember a TV commercial some time back showing two guys with a big hammer installing a battery and saying "we can make it fit !"
