Shop manual for a shade-tree mechanic

What resource manual (hard copy!) would be recommended for a shade-tree mechanic to assist in his maintenance of a stock 1947 Ford car?

Motor Manual, any year that covers 47. Example... 1954 manual covers 1940 through 1954.

Maple or Oak. Very strong, lots of shade, perfect for pulling engines.

Older Motors manual was very detailed. If I couldn't find a Ford shop manual, Motors would be a very close second.

AUDELS NEW AUTOMOBILE GUIDE 1947 1607 pages - very technical information on all auto systems
and
MOTOR'S AUTO REPAIR MANUAL 1947
863 pages - detailed specifications and repair information, broken down by make of car

Both:

• Very nice condition inside and out
• NO torn, missing or writting on pages
• Detailed auto repair manuals
• Full of illustrations
• The Audels cover is near perfect; only slight lines visible from opening/flexing the cover
• The Motor's cover is in good condition; slight wear top & bottom of spine from sitting on book shelf

Since these are both from same year, they will only be sold as a set.
