A and AA flywheel castings
I have several flywheel cover castings for Model As and they have the side mount provisions for the frame mounts. I also have what I think is an AA flywheel cover and bell housing, with a socket on the bottom for the wishbone ball and the flange for a truck 4 speed transmission. but it does not seem to have side mount provisions like those on a car's casting. Is it supposed to bolt to the car-type casting, or what?

Re: A and AA flywheel castings
No Ford tractor ever used a Model A engine or bell housing. There were some aftermarket tractors such as the Worthington mowers that used regular Model A stuff and industrial/agricultural power units based on the A but no Ford factory built tractors based on the A. |

Re: A and AA flywheel castings
I have always called that housing the bell housing which is bolted to the clutch or flywheel housing which has the mounting attachments to the frame.

Re: A and AA flywheel castings
It is likely for later then Model A. The 4 speed transmission was used for 30 years, but had different clutch housings for each year it was used. If you posted a photo, I could likely identity it for you.

Re: A and AA flywheel castings
I've always called it a bell housing also but Ford called it a clutch housing 7501.
