Default Firewall Mounting Question

I am building a 1920 T Roadster and have almost completed the paint work. I'm coming up on installing wood. In assessing my plan of attack I was looking at the firewall-to-frame mounts and wondering if, when the car is to be reassembled, should there be something between the two? For now, I'm going to put some tape to protect the paint but I didn't know if there was ever anything in between them.

My search has lead be to believe that there wasn't.

Thanks in advance.

Your car would have had a wood fire wall. There are two different brackets for the steel and wood firewall. The brackets are bolted directly to the firewall, nothing in between.
