Default 39 lincoln shock rebuild????

I know this is not a Lincoln forum, however I believe the shocks I have on my 39' Lincoln should be the same as a standard Ford? Does anyone know if there are rebuild kits available for them? What should I look for when I have them apart? What should I fill them with? Any help would be appreciated... I have yet to tackle this part of my car as of yet, but know that all 4 need to be repaired.... thanks, Daddio

The Lincoln shocks are very similar to the Fords. Construction (internal) is identical.
Unless you have the proper fixtures, you will find it difficult at best to rebuild them yourself.
I'd suggest sending them to Bill Wzorek. He turns them around quick and his fee is quite reasonable. Unlikely you will find a nice, more ethical person to deal with.
There have been other threads on the Barn in this regard and most will tell you to watch out for both Apple Hydraulics and M&S.
Personally I used Apple ONCE. They ruined a set of shocks for a show car. 'Nuff said?
Bill recently did another set for me, rare ones, early '39. He worked hard on them... came back wonderful!
Bill Wzorek can be reached at 413-586-5324

Bill has been trained by Louie Trinque and I know Louie was quite familiar with these.
