Engine number
A new to me 1929 Town sedan followed me home tonight and she said I could keep it.
In looking the engine number is higher than listed for the rouge plant even after 1932. A4871303 Am I to assume this was a repacement engine or what?

Re: Engine number
My number is A 4869469 and has a casting C 5 7 meaning March 5th, 1937. It is also a diamond block. ( Rouge plant ) Look on the right side down low just behind the timing gear and look for both the diamond and the letter with 2 numbers. Maybe this will help.

Re: Engine number
OK, so it is a Diamond block. The number on the casting is F29

Re: Engine number
Hang onto that block. It is supposedly made better than the non-diamond blocks. On second thought, it probably is not all that good, just give it to me!

Re: Engine number
F 2 9 = June 2, 1929. Diamond = Rouge plant. Others will chime in. I think it has some block and valve modifications. It's a keeper !

Re: Engine number
Because of the high serial number wouldn't that be a June of '39
