Default 1928 Water Pump with Round Hole?

Yesterday at the swap meet I saw a nice 1928 water pump with the small round opening, but I layed it down and forgot to ask the price. They are somewhat hard to find, so I'd guess they didn't go past about June, but maybe ended sooner than that. Does anyone know how far into 1928 the water pump with the small round opening was used? Thanks

The RG&JS says this on page 3-5. But you may be asking a different question, not sure.

Quote:
Three water pumps were used during Model A Ford production. There were no casting numbers or part numbers on the water pump casting. The initial 1928 water pump had a 3/8” round drain hole in the bottom of the casting. In April 1928, the hole was changed to a long oblong drain hole and was used to the end of production.

OK, thanks. That is about what I figured and why they seldom show up.
