Default Help! Need Pic of Autolite 2100 Carb

Can anyone snap a pic of a Autolite 2100 carb hooked onto a 292 engine? I just bought one and need to see connections:

a. vacuum connection location?
b. how does the voltage reducer fit next to the auto choke-pull off?
(they don't fit next to each other)

Thanks- I am a bit stumped.

Jim

Dist. vacuum fitting should be on the front of carb. Bracket on the choke stove is for a heater hose to run through to assist heating the stove. Threaded fitting by choke stove goes to exaust manifold for heat. Cap off the fitting that you have your finger on. You will need to relocate the voltage reducer, someplace else.

The other vacuum line, after I plug the one my finger is on, is just above the choke- so I will use that one. Does it matter where my reducer is located?

I managed to flip the location of the reducer and coil and she fired right up! But, I couldn't keep it running without a little gas on the pedal- where is the idle screw on the 2100 Autolite carbs? These early 2V carbs are new to me.

The one you have your finger goes on the intake tube going to the manifold heat tube for the choke. Bill

Bill are you sure? That doesn't seem right as my intake tube for manifiold heat is a bulbed nipple and matches a threaded nut from my manifold which screws down onto it. That is good and tight- but this vacuum line is way high on the carb, so I capped it off. She started right up and ran decently so far (2-3 minutes).

Hi, I don't think that is a vac fitting. It was made so the choke could suck filtered air to the choke tube and then into the choke housing . It original had a hose to a metal tube that went to the choke heater in the manifold and the metal tube coming out of manifold screwed to the choke housing. Bill

Hi Jim , The part you have your finger on connects to that part sticking up above it. There is no vac on that, It just sticks up in to the filtered air . Bill

Got it running really well now- thanks to all! As soon as she clears the garage door, I'll post pics. This is the first restoration on this '57 Fairlane 500 after sitting in a barn for untold years.
