Re the corner returns on each side of where roof vinyl joins body quarters.
My phaeton has the roof irons on the outside of body and more room to fold down, and the curved timber around back is flush with outside of body and the roof vinyl goes over the top metal metal swage line at sides and rear . This gives plenty of room for the lift a dots and they are placed vertically. My roadster has roof irons attached to near the inside of the top front quarter and the roof folds down closer inwards, this makes the wood around the back/sides have to be in a lot further. The only roadster in town I have to go by, has the roof vinly (height) ending at the top of the metal swage so that the swage is fully visible around back and the vinyl at the sides goes on top of the swage as it curves to attach to wood at very front lower edge of roof. This leaves a very tight space for the lift a dots over the top edge of the binding strip. The sample roadster has his lift a dots horizontal to help the lack of room. It does not look quite right. I would prefer them vertical. Does anyone have pics of the correct or best way to do this? Or are even lift a dots not original anyway? This is the sample roadster. If possible, quick responses would be appreciated as roadster is in trimmers now and we will be finishing roof in 6 hours from now. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'm pretty sure my 28 Roadster does not use the Lift A Dots as shown. I think it use snaps..... It is a Baron LeBonney special
