Default C 4 Model A? Spark plugs on the Bay

I found this on the Bay last night and read the sellers comments.
My question is are these the plugs he is describing he is selling?
Looking at the drawing I think he is selling the later 1932 C4 plugs not the earlier one.
These do not have the knurling all the way down and the lettering is closer to the ribs on the porcelain.

Joop They are the later replacments the knurling does not go to the bottom, the C4`s are for the 32 V8 and the originals had knurling that went all tyhe way to the bottom also inside the boxes there will be a year date on the flap, John

The C-4 plugs were used on the 32 V8 and model B engines as John stated. They look similiar to the 3X in that they have a brass top and are two piece. The knurling is different and the 3-X is taller. The plugs pictured are the early version of the C-4. There was at least two later versions that didn't have the brass top. The last version that was sold maybe up until the very early sixties wasn't blued but had a silvery finish like later style Champion plugs. I've still got the late style C-4 plugs that I bought at Thomasville auto parts back in late 1960 or early 61 and they still work good. The C-4 plugs are hotter than the 3-X but the heat range is not listed for either on the Champion heat range chart. The C-4 looks close enough to fool some but not the real experts. I have paid as much as $100.00 for four plugs includeing shipping. They look good enough for the parking lot car shows and the hotter heat range is good with either original heads or the 5.9 heads that I have used.

Hi Purdy

Please compare the plugs to the drawing he posted.
I think he is selling the later 1932 type.

Joop, you are correct. After a close look at the drawings I see several variations that I'm not familiar with. I thought that you were compairing the C-4 to the 3-X. I guess the three versions of the C-4 plugs that I am familiar with are the more common versions. The NOS brass top C-4 plugs that are in my collection have a note enclosed that suggests if used on the model A engine the gap should be set at .032 . Sorry about the confusion. I don't have any real refferance books on model B and early V8. I only have interest in the model B parts that will increase the performance of the model A.
