Dusting off the 31 Tudor
This car was my father's in high school, and he insisted that I learn to drive it before I got my driver's license back in 1996. I drove it to high school a few times as well. It's been sitting for 6 years, and I'm in the process of getting it back on the road one weekend at a time. I've changed all fluids, including the transmission and rear differential, and am going to replace the gas line, filter, and carburetor gaskets. Gonna grab some new tires and a battery too. (any recommendations? It has 19 in rims.)
Everything has looked pretty good so far, so it should be up and driving in January. I'm excited to get this A back on the road - it's been sitting far too long. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Looks like Dad built a nice Sedan . That looks a hot B engine you have there . ; High compression head, downdraft carb, Mallory dist? headers . You wont be creeping along at 40mph in that !! post your location others nearby could be a help |

Re: Dusting off the 31 Tudor
Welcome and don't forget to check over the brake system again. As far as tires and battery go, go through any of the vendors and I have an optima battery in mine.

Re: Dusting off the 31 Tudor
I had a B engine with a winfield head like yours in my tudor for about 30 years, and it ran very well. It;s great that it is still in the family and that you have taken an interest in it.

Re: Dusting off the 31 Tudor
Looks like a very serious 'B' motor with Winfield head and carb! Making me break the 10th commandment. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's hot B motor.

Re: Dusting off the 31 Tudor
Congrats!
What's the pressure gauge for? I assume that plumbing is for an oil filter? |

Re: Dusting off the 31 Tudor
Let me add my congratulations on doing the right thing by preserving your Dad's Model A. You are being methodical and that's a good thing. That car will bring you a lot of pleasure. All the best.

Re: Dusting off the 31 Tudor
That's way to nice to let sit.
You are doing the right thing bringing her back, enjoy it, have fun and be safe. I was up at Wally-mart the other day and a guy asked me "what bores your engine"? I told him him "sitting around all day" Welcome to the barn<<<<<and a very Merry Christmas
