Removing bonded brake linings
Any tricks to removing bonded shoe linings besides hammer and chissel!! Got new ones to rivet on..

Yes, a bonding oven to heat the glue will cause it to release. Done it many times.

You only need to get them hot enough for the glue to let go. I use an LPG torch but have used oxy gear many time too. Just heat then gently while prying the linings with a screw driver or spatula.

If you have trouble locating a brake shop, use the yellow pages to find a place that re-lines truck clutches and brakes. They will do it. Thankfully there is such a place in Ft Worth
