noisy speedometer

I have a 57 Mercury TurnpikeCrusier and the speedometer is very noisy. Does anyone have a diagram on how to remove it from the dash? Im not sure how and dont want to mess up something taking it out. Today the red ribbon went to 120mph then disappeared must have rolled off the drive wheel , not really sure how it all works. I looked through all my manuals but don't have anything on speedos Thanks Kenny
