Default Bob Drake Winshield Regulator

Has anyone used the Bob Drakes '36 window regulator unit? I'd like to know if the quality is good and if you're happy with it.

Or is it "offshore junk"?
Thanks,
-Bob

I bought one to have as a spare for my 35. THE original ONES ON EBAY go for a lot of money sometimes. It looks the same and work nice and smooth, same hole distance, but I only have it as a spare. They are on ebay for 70.00 + shipping.

Yes, I bought one last October and installed it in my '35 fordor. It fits and works perfectly. I am getting ready to order another one for my '35 coupe. They are on sale at BD's right now. I also installed his windshield rubber gasket with pre molded corners and was very happy with ease of installation and seal at window opening. It is so nice to be able to open that windshield for the air flow and then close it and know that it's sealed well when raining.

Great - thanks for the feedback.

I dug mine out this morning to check it out for the project and found it skipped teeth as I cranked it, so I guess I won't be using it. One more unforseen expense...........

I found a rebuild kit (new gears arms) for $160.00 at C&G - they wanted $80.00 for their repro unit (most likely a BD unit). They'd also "remanufacture my original unit for $225.00. Quite a profit center, I guess.....

Thanks to JM 35 Sedan, I went to Bob Drakes website and bought their repro on sale for $60.00

When I have time, I'll tear my original apart and see if I can fix it or not.

Thanks a million for everyone's input!
