Body/assembly plant #?
I asked a couple times, searched a bit, no luck. I have a March 31 CCPU (according to the engine#). Where would I find the numbers stamped in or on the body to tell me where it was built? Thanks in advance. BTW, I can't find it anywhere near or within the seat area.

Re: Body/assembly plant #?
For some unknown reason not all body cross members were stamped. Others have been replaced and some filled in during a previous restoration. A very few had the side rail stamped and we have found a few inside of the front seat riser for vehicles having them.

Dave covered the answer well so I'm drifting off topic. With a 3/31 engine number I'd expect a strong probability it has an indented firewall. Is that the case?

Re: Body/assembly plant #?
Flat firewall, March engine # that's approx 20K from the end of the month's numbers according to the list. IIRC, March #s start at something like 4440XXX and end at 4520XXX. I did find a number on the wood center seat support, "A 6933", but I suspect a part# there. I found a single "8" stamped in the body crossmember in front of the seat. So far that's it.

Gettting back into restoring my Model A's after about a 4 year break. My 1931 Deluxe Tudor has a frame number of 4,515,xxx which should be right near the end of March, 1931 and it has an indented firewall. Also, it has many of the later features that are being discusssed in another thread here. Another of my A's is a 1931 pickup with a frame number of 4,446,xxx which is earlier in March of 1931. It has the flat firewall. Ray |

Narrow bed version. Have a pick of the truck back in 1980, it was narrow then as well. Wide bed was intro'd in May 31.
