47 Steering Question ??
SHEBA My 47 tudor is a little hard to steer @ slow speed I know its Me and not her. ( things are just a little harder each month)I want to convert to power steering I think I want to go with a GM conversion,
It has been talked about here before and I tried to find the thread But must be asking the wrong questions. What Gear box do I want Where are the #'s on the box? I took One out of a early 70's GMC 1/2 ton van. Is it possible it may be correct to do this conversion ? I found the Frame adapter to except the GM box as a direct bolt in. What other mounting Hardware / brackets & where do I get the other them The engine is a 8CM with wide a wide belts. In the mean while Before I convert I want to drain the steering box and fill with J D Corn head grease. Where are the drain & fill plugs located ? THANKS |

I just rebuild my 47 box and there isn't much room for power steering. I would grease it check for loose king pins. tire pressure aliment. George |
