Default Drip tray and valve chamber area drainage

Question. Anyone know a way to drain oil from these areas without removal of pan and side cover ? I'm afraid I know the answer, but, some guys are pretty clever.

jack up the car in the front as high as you can. the dipper tray has an 1"gap at the back between the tray and rear wall of the pan

Hey Pat,,

My filler tube isn't that tight. So I can remove & use compressed air to blow the oil out of the dipper tray..I use a piece of bent "metal" tubing to get to all of the dipper area..Don't know about the valve chamber, other than removing the cover

I had faith, I knew you guys were pretty clever. Thanks. I should have switched oil brands and weight when I had the pan and cover off last time.

OK, if I stand it on the rear bumper that'll take care of the tray and then standing it on the front bumper should take care of the chamber. I'll blow out whatever is left.

Tip it up high, so the sediment shifts in the battery and shorts out the plates. LOL

Actually it happened to me on a riding lawn mower, and the battery was only 6 months old. I lifted the front end up about 45* and pulled some grass out of the deck, then set it back down. The mower wouldn't restart and the Interstate battery was junk.

Why is it so important to get the oil out?

"I should have switched oil brands and weight when I had the pan and cover off last time."

If it is because you are changing the type of oil, save yourself the trouble and just add the new stuff.

If it makes you feel better, pour a quart down the distributor hole, wait a few minutes for it to drain into the dipper tray, then pour another quart in the filler tube, and let it all drain out the pan.
