Default adjustable 6 volt regulator

Hello. I am looking at this regulator for a 6 volt, positive ground project. The label says NEG, but it also says to "push the button before starting engine" to polarize. Does that mean it can be polarized to a positive ground? Thanks

It also identifies itself as NEG. I would think that means that it is not to be used on a POS ground car. I think the polarization of the generator is what the button is for. Instead of looking at it for your project, look at it as a neat wall hanger.

NO it can only used for NEG ground. Pushing the button to polarize means to polarize the regulator and generator because it is a new fit up on a NEG ground vehicle. Regards, Kevin.

Also note that the amps rating on that regulator is 45 to 51 amps which is way higher than a typical ford generator is rated at which is approx 33 amps normally. Also by adjusting the voltage knob on that regulator you really have no idea what you are adjusting the voltage to unless you have a voltmeter connected up to indicate what the setting is at. TO be honest I would not use that reg on your car. No good just guessing that it COULD be OK. Regards, Kevin.
