Marvel Carb: Installing new throttle shaft
Do I just cut the old throttle shaft out and remove it to install the new one? Or is this the wrong part?

Re: Marvel Carb: Installing new throttle shaft
Is that a Marvel specific shaft ? Is it oversized , and is it from Renners ?

It is not oversized and yes it came from Renner's Corner. I didn't see any oversized ones and renner's seemed to be the only one that had the shaft. The original throttle shaft in mine was a little over a thousands of an inch smaller in diameter compared to the one I just bought. The old one had just a smidge of play if you wiggled it back and forth. The bore in the carb body was in good shape, so I just left it alone instead of boring it out and putting bushings in it. Car runs smoother and runs better with the GAV closed about 1/4 turn less than what I used to keep it at. |
