the last model A engine
anyone know what the last official model a s/n was? the best i can find from publications is a4849340 from 1932. did ford continue to number engines long past end of production? also did engines bound for industrial use get A numbers? i recently came across A4860003 and i got me wondering. it has a 32 style pan(but without rear extension or rod dimples), B cam,B oil filler,B flywheel and ex valve seats. its not a diamond A block. at first i thought it was just mismatched parts till i noticed the late s/n and std bore and crank. anyone care to comment? ...thanks!
