5 after a rebuild, or pan removal, but 4 for the normal oil change.

I'm preparing to start an engine that sat domain for 20 years.
I want to how much oil comes out before i change it. If not enought comes out then I will assume that it turned to tar in the pan and I will have to remove the pan.

I had the same situation, 20 years under a hay tarp. Be safe and smart. Remove the pan. Clean it out and start with 5 quarts of fresh oil. It's not that much work, and you'll drive around with peace of mind.
Just my view.

Make sure you put at least 1 if not 2 quarts of oil in the distributor hole. this will put oil to the main bearing for the crank and lube the lifters. Put some MMO in the spark plug holes.

You need to do that any way. Think, if it turned to goop or worse in the pan, what about the main feed tubes .

After 20 years you'd want to check the cam lobes for rust, as well as the cylinders, crank, etc.

This is good advice. With the pan off you can get a very good look at most of the engine. And when it goes back together you know what you have.

When you go to fill the oil through the distributor hole, don't forget to remove the lower shaft if it is a two piece shaft. Otherwise you will have oil running down the side of the engine

I agree all around, especially considering how easy it is to get the pan out and back in again. Pop it open, check things out, and clean things out. Remove it carefully, and the odds are pretty good that you can leave all the gaskets in place, and reuse them... at least good enough for a test start.
