The '41 pickup hood is apparently different than the '40 in that the latch handle extends down over the top of the center grill area. Right here:

I am trying to find the correct hood latch but am not sure what it looks like. The following pictures are examples.

The following two are reported to be for a 1940:

This is out of the Bob Drake catalog. but is the picture accurate?

The '41 hood latch looks like it is supposed to be about 7 3/8-inches long. Clarifications please, better pictures possibly...

Recently I noticed the hardware under the hood is also different on some old hooods I have. Does the under hood hardware have to match the outer latch or can you use the underhood hardware from a 40 with the outer latch from a 41 or vice versa?

The first one looks like the hood latch for a 1940 large truck.
