1960 Galaxie Clutch Linkage
I have a '60 full size Ford with a 352 that I want to convert from an automatic to a standard. Does anyone know what years of Fords share the same clutch pedals and the associated linkage so I know what to look for in the salvage yards? I'm assuming '60 to '64.

There are variance(s) in components -
1960 1961/62 1963/64 Any chance of finding a 1960 donor? |

I have found 3 donors all wagons. I will have to catch the guy open and see what he has. I doubt if many wagons were ordered with a manual transmission but maybe I will get lucky.

Re: 1960 Galaxie Clutch Linkage
After a year of collecting parts and disassembling I am preparing to go back together. I was able to find the correct 1960 clutch linkage and pedals. I'm in the process of installing a Borgeson power steering box and modifying the column. As you can imagine the front end needs a rebuild and I figure now is the time to do it with the engine out. One question I have is what is the difference between a power steering and a manual steering idler arm. Can they interchange? Would one be better than the other?

Re: 1960 Galaxie Clutch Linkage
The Ford power steering was likely still using a power cylinder under the car but still moving with a manual type box. This was why is needed a different center link, tie rod, and idler arm set up. If the Borgeson is a power steering box then it will likely work better with a conventional manual steering center link and tie rod set up.
