Binding horn button
I now know what burned up my horn. I pushed the horn button to see if my battery was dead and did not realize that I did not push it down straight. As I charged the battery the horn was activated. I had forgotten to throw my battery disconnect switch.
So now that I know all of the reasons behind my $200.00 mistake - is there a fix for a binding horn button other than making sure you push down straight and not at an angle? Does antone else have this situation? Thanks Lee |

Re: Binding horn button
Since I did not get any responses I wonder if my question was really understood. I got a new horn rod when I did the rebuild. Is it only the new ones that have this problem?

Re: Binding horn button
If its a repop horn rod..........well I guess I am not surprised that you are having trouble. Trying to visualize what you're saying though and I looked at two horn rods to see what might be the issue. Is the button itself free of casting marks or burrs? The button base? I would remove the whole thing and take it apart to see why it's staying down and repair it.

Maybe that's why some notice an improvement when adding a relay. Maybe they also have a repro button. |
