Back in the day, you could find Chrysler products with this kind of undersize in their engines. Ford Industrial engine rebuilders in Patterson, went to .030 or .040 ( I forget which) only on Flatheads. If they didn't clean up they junked them. In the late 60's I was in their warehouse and saw hundresa of then on shelves waiting for delivery to ?? They had been rebuilt for Sears. They didn't rebuild Mercury (8CM) engines and discarted the 4" cranks. sold them to other rebuilders, I think. Saw a shelf full of them too, but our racing association wouldn't allow them.
