Hylomar was developed by Rolls Royce for its engines. It was probably in the Dart engine time frame when they were having problems keeping synthetic turbine oils in there turbine enginecases. I used to use it but went to 3-bond 1211 a long time ago since it seals better/longer on magnesium cases. The later Loctite 515 anaerobic sealants also work better than the Hylomar when dealing with turbine oil.
