I think you would love a T-5 tranny behind that fresh 292. I did it for little money with the great help of my friend Ralph, (retired mechanic), and steady advice from the guys on this site. I've let friends drive my truck and they are now doing the same set up. That five speed is sporty, great on the highway and helps with the gas mileage. I would also do the other suggested upgrades like the 12 vt, and updated dist. I added Toyota power steering, Bronco power brakes, Trans Am front sway bar and Explorer rear sway bar. Thats my two cents worth. - John
