I believe that the quarter turn on the GAV is also found in the Ford Car Manual.
On cold days, I too open the GAV more than normal.....almost one turn. Then, once it is "kind of warm" I turn it back to 1/4 open, per the Ford Owners Manual (Doesn't Everyone have One ?).
Gas Mileage is 20 on trips.
