Quite stable. As long as the engine doesn’t extend its center of mass past the front wheels (which it doesn’t, at least on mine - Harbor Fright 1000 lb) then you are golden. Seems to me that my extensions are about 3-1/2 inches or so, but don’t quote me on that. Those are to bolt to the block without the flywheel housing. And of course, without the flywheel.
