Default Earlier Post...

Earlier I had posted that my car started dying after driving a mile and barely make it home, spitting and sputtering and backfiring. Well it turns out the battery went bad and I'm guessing that the cutout switch was causing the backfiring like if I was turning the key off and on. In the meantime I took the distributer apart and the carb only to not find anything there to cause the problems.
My questing here now is; should I use permatex on the gaskets on the carb to make sure no air leaks occur.
