I find 6 volt coils at most swap meets and don't recall buying a bad one yet. That's because so many coils are needlessly replaced.

OK, I didn't make myself clear. If I have a coil and all it says is 12v or nothing, How can I check it to determine if I use it on a 12v as is or put a resistor in line?
