Re: Do Ypu Actually Carry/Use A Model A Jack On The Road?
I was on a tour several years ago when I had 4 flats in one day. We traveled on pavement, asphalt, gravel, and dirt roads. My walker flip top got a workout. Had to borrow two wheels from other cars to keep going. At night at the motel, I was patching tubes, pulling out barb wire, and a rusty roofing nail. The third was a split seam. The fourth flat was due to my spare tube leaking at the valve stem after I had replaced the split seam tube. Ended up borrowing a tube as well. Besides the jack I have always carried a patch kit, spare tube, valves, a set of tire irons, and a 12vdc tire pump. Hard to get air in the boonies at night with no service stations open, but the motel pool is handy for checking leaks.
